FAQ

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before your appointment.

What conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal, orthopedic and sports-related conditions, including back and neck pain, joint and muscle injuries, sports injuries and post-operative rehabilitation.

What can I expect at my first appointment?
Your physiotherapist will take a detailed history and assess your movement, symptoms and function. From there, we'll explain our findings and develop a treatment and rehabilitation plan based on your individual goals.

What does treatment involve?
Treatment may include hands-on physiotherapy, movement and exercise rehabilitation, education and progressive strengthening. Your treatment is tailored to your condition and stage of recovery.

Do you offer post-operative rehabilitation?
Yes. We regularly manage patients following orthopedic surgery and can work alongside your surgeon's rehabilitation protocol to guide your recovery safely and progressively.

What is VALD objective testing?
We use VALD technology, including HumanTrak and DynaMo, to objectively assess movement, strength and progress. This gives us measurable information to help guide rehabilitation and return-to-activity decisions.

Do you accept medical aid?
Yes. We accept most major medical aids and can submit claims directly where applicable. Benefits and available funds depend on your individual medical-aid plan.

Can I pay privately?
Absolutely. Private/self-pay patients are welcome, and card and electronic payment options are available.

How long is an appointment?
Appointments are generally around 45–60 minutes, depending on the assessment and treatment required.

How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?
That depends on your condition, goals and response to treatment. After assessing you, your physiotherapist will discuss the expected rehabilitation process with you and adjust the plan as you progress.

What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows us to assess the area being treated. For example, shorts are useful for lower-limb problems, while a vest or suitable top can make shoulder assessment easier.
